The Malaysia National Weiqi (Go) Team Selection 2026 is the official national-level tournament organized to identify and select Malaysia’s top Weiqi (Go) players to represent the country on the international stage.

Held on 25–26 April 2026 at Kompleks Rakan Muda Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, this event serves as a fair, transparent, and systematic platform to form the Malaysia National Go Team.

Participants: 64 elite players nationwide
– 48 players qualified through state-level selections
– 16 invited players nominated by the management committee

⚙️ Selection Process
1. State-Level Selection (Nov 2025 – Feb 2026)
Each state Weiqi (Go) association conducts its official selection to nominate top representatives.

2. Submission Deadline (28 Feb 2026)
Each state may submit up to 8 verified players to the National Team Secretariat.

3. Official Announcement (25 Mar 2026)
The finalized list of 64 qualified players will be published by the MWSA.

4. National Selection Tournament (25–26 Apr 2026)
Supervised by professional coaches, international referees, and certified technical officials.

5. National Team Formation
– 8 National Team Players
– 16 National Youth Team Players
